Located in a prominent business central district of Fort Lee, the 2044 Center Ave. JWP building is a three-story retail and office building with a ground floor parking level. The project is installed in a small site area at the corner facing Fort Lee Public Parking Lot with other retail and office buildings on each side. The visual impact of this building from the public parking area is strong, as the building works as a node and focal point for the context and beyond.
“Folding Plane”
Inspired by the sloped ground plane, the space and the building form were created by a folded plane peeled off from the ground, creating parking on the ground floor with office and retail space on the rest of three floors.
