DANCE PERFORMING CENTER

In response to the nature of the open site and the program, the architecture was inspired to give a vision of a spatially dynamic expression. By exploring the movements of contemporary dancers, we have translated the spatial dynamics into our own formal language; a dialog between the positive and negative space that surround the building.

“Labanotation”

The continuous movement of dance can be translated into various representations, such
as by means of labanotation, a method which notates the significant steps in dance. In a similar way, a series of snapshots of a sequence of movement can be translated into various architectural elements.
